As programmed, the Club’s annual “Jim Fawcett IOM Handicap Regatta” was held today in variable and light weather with 12 boats – with 3 boats retiring by day’s end.
There were quite a few wind shifts throughout the day with the course being reset twice.
With the assistance of the crusty ol’10R members, sailing began at 1000hrs as planned and 16 races were run through to 1530hrs, with a 30min club sponsored BBQ break at noon.
Overall, it was felt that the day was a great success, the sailing conditions were not easy, and the behaviour on the water was great!
In the end, the points came up with the following results: Peter Gibson came in 1st with Ian Thompson coming in 2nd and Brian Heneker coming 3rd. – our “Sportsman” trophy for the day went to Mal Eagle.
